Minutes

 

1.      Apologies – County Cllr. Dave Wood, District Cllr. David Rose.

 

2.      Minutes – November 13 were signed as correct.

 

 

3.      Matters Arising –  i) Gavin Hodge will hopefully be at January meeting, re: Good Neighbour scheme.  ii) Goalpost is covered by insurance.  iii)  Babergh know about moving the bottle bank, hopefully it will be done.  iv) Tractor – Roger Harward wrote to Babergh and will now write to Environment Agency.  v) Baker’s Arms is open.  vi) Village Hall kitchen - clerk was advised by Suffolk ACRE, to speak to VAT office direct.

 

-         ADJOURNMENT – Brian Excell said village hall committee were applying for grants for the kitchen, so Parish Council need not contact the VAT office.

PC Garrod, gave a brief report of local crimes.  Only 8 since his last visit in May. $ were disturbance related, 3 thefts from insecure sheds and vehicles and 1 from the pub cigarette machine, which refused to accept payment!!  There's a new Community Watch Liaison Officer m- Tony Simpson, who will keep in touch with the NHW. Police Direct is now up and running, Suffolk being the first force to use it.  The public can get direct info. From the police to computers. mobile ‘phones or landlines, by registering free of charge.

 

4.      Millennium Green – Inspected and book signed in order.  Brian Rooke still to clean safety tiles.

 

5.      Planning Applications – none.  Engadine has been approved.

 

 

6.      Financial Report – Current Ac. – possibly minus £60, as Clerk had forgotten to transfer money over to cover the ROSPA cheque of £81.  Bus. Prem Ac. £4096 (includes interest since last month).  Savings unchanged at £1498.  ii)  Rodney Freeman had prepared a draft budget  to year ending March 31 2008.  Parish Council agreed to make following changes :- 1)increase village hall hire by £31 to £156 2) Increase mower repairs by £100 to £200. 3) Add £300 contingency for Ganges planning. 4)Add £125 for BUZABOUT contribution. 5) Add £400 for War Memorial refurbishment. This would increase expenditure by £956 and give a deficit of £726.  However as the general fund has over £8k  (£1070 being grant money), in it, the precept would remain at £2500.

 

7.      Correspondence –nothing particular. Most of it will be re-circulated.  Parish Council elections are set for May 3 2007.

 

 ADJOURNMENT –  Brian Excell said that village hall hire was going up to £13 for everyone, except the PCC.

 

8.      Any other business – William  asked if the PC were happy to share the AGM day with the Village Hall again, next year. All agreed.  Brian Rooke said that there were now steps to the shore from FP26.  This was the footpath under discussion earlier in the year, as to whether it was designated or not.

 

9.      Date next meeting –  Monday January 8 2007 at 8pm.
